Vital to the fulfillment of our mission is...

Connecting with God, Each Other, and the World

Following Jesus is about loving relationships... connecting with God, with each other and the world. Jesus summarized Scripture by focusing on two central commands:

"The most important one ... is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:29-31, NIV)

Connecting with God ...
"O Lord, Thou hast made us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee." - Augustine

The ultimate purpose of all things is the glory of God; God made us for His glory. That means our greatest need is to know God and our ultimate purpose is to declare His glory.

So, there is no greater activity for the individual and the gathered church than to declare God’s glory in dynamic worship. Because God is most clearly revealed to us in the Bible and through Jesus, we place great emphasis on preaching and teaching the Bible with primary focus on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Individually and together, we want to help one another in the pursuit of God, finding true joy and delight in our relationship with Him and growing in obedience to Him.

Connecting with Each Other ...
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:24-25, NIV)

God designed us to live and grow in community. Genuine friendships with others provides encouragement, accountability, nurture, practical care, and mentoring. As we study the Bible together, pray, play and serve together, we build deep friendships with each other and with God.

Connecting with the World ...
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
(Matthew 28:19-20, NIV)

We are left in this world to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all the peoples of the world. We are committed to engaging our community, our city, and the entire world in ways that demonstrate and proclaim the love and grace of Christ.
