Easter Sunday is unquestionably the highlight of the church year. It focuses on the most important event and anchor of our Christian faith, the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

But the resurrection loses its significance if it is not linked to the events of the previous Friday, the horrifying suffering and death of Jesus on the cross.
