Spring 2010
Sundays, March 7-May 30
9 am
Open Evangelism
Do you wish you had more courage or training for sharing the hope of Jesus with others? We will explore both Biblical teaching and practical advice about how to open spiritual conversations with others, how to communicate the Gospel in a clear and relevant way, and how to respond to common questions and objections.
Taught by Don Beachy, Pastor of Ministry Development at Faith Church.
New Testament Read-Thru
You know reading the Bible is important. But where do you start? And will your life really be changed? During this three-month class, you’ll read through the entire New Testament on your own and we’ll come together on Sundays to share observations, ask questions, and grow in our understanding and love of God’s Word.
Taught by Mark & Alyssa Dunker. The Dunkers helped plant a Bible College in Tanzania and then returned to the US to join Crescent Project, a ministry that helps Christians build relationships with Muslims.
The Life of David
David is one of the most important and fascinating people in the entire Old Testament, and is held up in Scripture as “a man after God’s own heart.” We will study the life of David in 1 & 2 Samuel, learning from both his heroic feats and his profound failures.
Taught by Don Fields & John King. Don Fields is an elder and 35-year member of Faith Church. Don also serves with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. John King has served in several church leadership roles and also taught adult classes at Faith since 1999.
Leviticus: Beyond the Law
This class will be a thorough exploration of the Mosaic Law. We will be walking through Leviticus and viewing it through the lens of how the book fits in with what God did, is doing, and will accomplish through the means of history. From dove-to-lamb exchange rates to the Day of Atonement, the class will attempt to answer the age-old question that has plagued so many Christians: “Why is this book in the Bible?”
Taught by Chris Purnell & Paul Petro. Both Paul and Chris are graduates of the IU School of Law Indianapolis and have taught adult classes at Faith. Chris is a lawyer for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic.

James: A Faith That Works
In today’s world, people are searching for spiritual answers to life’s questions. Sadly, many of them are turning to the wrong sources like politics, new age philosophies and self-help books. Some are asking, “Is this all there is to life?” In the midst of the confusion, there is a man who speaks clearly about a “faith that works.” James teaches us how to develop strong faith in God and to live out that faith in today’s world. Learn practical insights for dealing with temptation, judgment, prejudice, communication, worldliness, materialism and suffering.
Taught by Phil Johnston. Phil is an elder at Faith, and has been an active worship leader and in other leadership roles here.
Theology of Justice
Examine what Scripture teaches about justice based on Biblical texts covering Adam and Eve up to the time of Moses. Participate in discussions and lectures based on encouraged readings done outside of class. (This class will also be offered at 9 a.m. in the fall.)
Taught by Chet Wood. Chet is a long-standing member of Faith’s missionary family, and has served as a professor and key leader at the Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology in Africa.
Living Today: Ongoing Senior Fellowship
