Stewardship

Why Give?

More than anything, giving is an act of worship.

In King David’s prayer at the dedication of the gifts that Solomon would later use to build the temple, he said to God,

“Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name… Everything we have comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.”
(1 Chronicles 29:13, 14)

Giving acknowledges that God is already the owner of all things. All that God gives us is to be used for His Glory and His purposes, chief of which is to declare His glory among all peoples. As we give, we have the blessing of being part of this greatest of all activities, declaring the glory of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
